Detroit Sound Hall of Fame from Detroit Sound Conservancy on Vimeo.

We will tell the story…

There is no hall of fame for Detroit’s passed musical legends let alone the living legends that continue to inspire Detroiters and the world. The Detroit Sound Hall of Fame presented by Detroit Sound Conservancy uses mobility, projection, archival footage, photography, oral history, and historic preservation, to tell the stories of living and passed musical legends from across numerous genres and aspects of Detroit’s rich music culture. Utilizing windows salvaged from the Graystone Ballroom formerly on Woodward Avenue by the Graystone International Jazz Museum & Hall of Fame, Detroit Sound Hall of Fame can be installed in multiple spaces and configurations to tell a variety of Detroit musical stories.
